Independent reading 10 minutes – EPIC levelled book OR levelled text from class.

  1. Measure who has the largest size head in your family. Order each person from largest to smallest. Use a measuring tape. If you don’t have one, use some string and measure it.
  2. Measure the height of each family member using cm. Order from largest to smallest.
  3. Measure the height and width of 4 household items. Order from largest to smallest.

Calculators:

  1. What would you rather? 1m of $2 coins OR 1m of $5 notes. Explain your reasons.
  2. Estimate and measure the distance you can blow a counter/coin across a table. Is it more effective using a straw or no straw.
